It’s time for finals, and I’ll keep you in my prayers.
Ask the Lord for success and triumph over your studies, the ability to stay awake to finish what you need to finish and rest for when you take your exams. Pray for His guidance in the coming weeks and that He leads you to do all things in His will. Ask for forgiveness for any grievances you’ve caused and for any sins you’ve committed against Him, yourself, or others. Pray for your friends who are struggling during finals week. Ask God to show you how Great He is, ask Him to tell you where you are to go next in this life, and listen. His words are great, but His voice is soft.
Godspeed!
"Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You." Psalm 143:8

God brings certain people into our life for us to encourage, build, move, and love. They are also brought into our lives so that they may do the same for us. While that growing friendship may not always last, know that the reason that friendship took place was to help you grow, and to help them grow. They may not be in your life right now, but at this time, they may not need to be in your life, and God may not want you in theirs. This gives you an opportunity so seek Christ out, and Christ alone. To go to Him before anyone else. Be faithful and hopeful in that. Appreciate those who have been in your life. Always give thanks. And pray for them. For their health and their walk with God, pray they grow stronger day by day. Offer encouragement, even if they don’t return it. Do all things in Love as the Lord commands it. Live as Christ lived and be generous. Be patient and Rest in Him.
"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:12-15

Oh Lord, I pray you break my heart every hour, every day. Shatter it to pieces so that I know that You are the Ultimate Healer, my only Savior. Break me so that I may see and feel with Your Holy Spirit. Tear open my heart so that it is no longer cold and hardened. Release me from my worries and anxieties and allow me to accept Your great Love, oh God! I just want to love you, with everything inside me. I want to love as You love. I want to live as Christ did. I crave your affection more than anything else! Please Abba, lift me up and hold me close! I need you more as the days grow old! I pray to be more loving and compassionate, that You use me as a vessel for Your great works, and I pray daily for strength to walk in the steps of Your Son.

I love you deeply, Lord.

Amen.

Prayer Challenge Update 2:

It is(was) currently 415am.

Before I went to bed, I prayed that I would get rest during the night. But then I remembered that God has a sense of humor. Usually when I pray for rest, I sleep past my alarm and I’m late for work. “Oh, hey thanks Lord, that’s not really what I meant but ya, thanks..” So last night I prayed for rest AND that I would be wide awake when my alarm went off, so that I could get up and pray. Again, God certainly has a sense of humor, and at this point, I’m like, “Really?” with the whole eyebrow raise and everything.

Not only am I wide-awake at 4am when my alarm goes off, I actually could not get to sleep the ENTIRE night. I couldn’t get comfortable. I was tossing and turning. And you know, I was pretty tired when I went to bed at thirty after midnight. Really God? Is the whole “not-getting-sleep” thing necessary? Like I said, sense of humor. I was wide-awake, fortunately.

Now I look forward to working from 445 to noon, class from 1pm to 5, and studying for finals from 5 midnight (well, 3am it’s looking like)! Just slight sarcasm but I’m glad I was awake to pray. So far today has been successful. :)

To all I pray for a lovely and equally successful day. Seek God’s will in every situation, have faith, and do everything in love!

God broke my heart today. He shattered it. Never have I wanted to reach out so badly for those that hurt. I’m a youth leader at a local church and every Wednesday, I mentor a group of middle school girls. Tonight, a girl brought up that her best friend is physically abused by her father who’s an alcoholic and drug addict. Not only her friend, but her friend’s 13 year-old brother and 10 year-old sister are abused also. The girl who’s abused wasn’t present but my heart broke right there. This is the righteous burden that God has given me. No love can amount to His love. I pray everyone understands that.
Pray for those who hurt- the sexually abused, the physically abused, the mentally abused. No one deserves that.  Pray that God lifts their spirit. Pray for their safety and pray for those who abuse them. Pray that God works in the abuser’s heart so that they may understand that what they’re doing is wrong. Pray that the family and friends show love and compassion and encouragement towards those being abused. Pray that they do what they can to help them get out of their situation. Pray that God works in their own heart so that they may know Him and understand what great love he has to offer. Pray that they are encouraged and uplifted, being ever hopeful and always acting in love. Pray that the hurt stops now.
"Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.’ " Isaiah 35:3-4

Update on Prayer Challenge:

Set my alarm for 8am to have time for everything before class, and remembered to pray. I don’t think I was fully awake because I remember saying to God, “Morn’n Lord, I pray today is wonderful and blessed but I’m tired so Imma go back to bed. Love you, bye. Amen.” And I fell back asleep until 930am. When I awoke once again, I started getting ready, bathroom, got online, got dressed, and remembered I had attempted to get up and pray, and realized the time I should have prayed was as soon as I got up the second time, and yet once again, I failed to do so. So I prayed instead when I had that realization.

It’ll be difficult, but I aim to make it a habit. I pray you do the same as well.

Have a chipper day and glorify the Lord in all you do! :)

I urge you to pray. Pray without ceasing, at all and any time of the day! Whether you’re driving to work, with your family, or out on your own walking about, pray, for that is how we communicate with our Lord, and that line of communication is immensly important. God has put it on my heart to speak of this today. A while back, I want to a Muslim mosque with my comparative religions class and one of the men there spoke of how they pray throughout the day. They pray before they even start their day. Do you pray before you start your day? I don’t, to be completely honest. The experience at the mosque taught me something, and I’m just now realizing it. We need to be steadfast in our prayer, constantly keeping that line of communication intact and continuing to pour out to our Father everything that is on our heart. Just talk to Him. Cry to Him. Love Him, because that’s all that He wants.
I urge you, no, I challenge you to pray before doing anything else when you wake up. Don’t use the bathroom, check your texts, or get online. Pray. Put God above all else. Even if you’re tired and you have to wake up earlier to have time to pray, do it. If God is more important to you than sleep, you’ll wake up and pray. Let Him know where He stands in your heart. I challenge you. Talk to God. Try, at least for one week. Pray sincerely and empty yourself of all worries and frustrations and anxieties. Draw closer to God Almighty.
"Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36

For those of you who weren’t able to go to church on Easter, here is the sermon from my church (the blue link above). Or if you did go to church and want to hear something different, go for it. If you have doubts on whether Jesus is really Lord, I urge you listen to this. If you’re a Christian, I ask you to listen also, but to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord!

My pastor is by far, one of the best I have ever listened to. His name is Andrew and he’s so very passionate about God! He’s not boring; he’s very energetic and funny. Baptist background but nondenominational church. He preaches directly from the Bible and even gives back history, such as on Roman Soldiers and Jewish customs that are seen in the New Testament.

God bless! :)

Easter. Not the pagan worship of the goddess Ishtar. Not the festival of eggs and bunnies. No. The celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of Man! Over 2000 years ago, God poured out his whole wrath onto one man, Jesus Christ, so that we sinners may have the hope of salvation! Everything- lust, envy, hate, unfaithfulness, gluttony, murder, idolatry- these were all placed on the Messiah on the cross of God’s wrath so that the Scriptures could be fulfilled, and that we could have a chance of everlasting life in Heaven with our God! Jesus suffered an indefinite amount for us, out of love! He would rather suffer an incredibly agonizing and humiliating death than see God’s anger poured out on us in Hell! It is finished.
Three days later, Jesus was raised from the dead. Through his death and resurection, we have, by the grace of God, been given a chance for rebirth. By Jesus Christ we are saved and recieve eternal salvation. Thank the Lord! For this is not a time for mourning, but a time for celebration! We may now see the Glory of God! There is hope!
Today, pray for your salvation. Examine to see whether you are in the faith, test yourself. If your heart has not been in the right place lately, talk to God about it. Tell him your woes and frustrations and your hopes and your aspirations. You don’t have to speak in King James Version, just talk to Him how you would talk to me, or a close friend. Be willing and open and you will eventually hear His voice. Ask him to create within you a pure heart and a right spirit. Pray for forgiveness and know that He loves you. He truly does! If you don’t know Christ, but you want to, talk to the Lord and give Him your heart! It’s a great refreshing and wonderful feeling! Ask for salvation and know that Jesus Christ is Lord! There’s no better time than now to come to God and die to your sin! There’s no better time than now to renew your faith! If you have any questions whatsoever, comment, message me, ask me, email me, or facebook me! Hope your Easter Sunday was glorious!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all!
